Invoeringen toepassingvan CAS-nr.82692-96-4|N-Ethyl-N-(2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl)-3-methoxyaniline natriumzout dihydraat
N-Ethyl-N-(2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl)-3-methoxyaniline-natriumzoutdihydraat is een diagnostisch middel dat wordt gebruikt om baby's met congenitale bijnierhyperplasie (CAH) te diagnosticeren. CAH is een groep autosomaal recessieve aandoeningen die het gevolg zijn van een enzymdeficiëntie in de bijnier. Dit kan worden gediagnosticeerd door de concentratie van 17-hydroxypregnenolone te meten, de voorloper van cortisol en andere hormonen. In deze test wordt N-Ethyl-N-(2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl)-3-methoxyaniline-natriumzoutdihydraat gebruikt om de omzetting van 17-hydroxypregnenolone in cortisol te remmen. Er is aangetoond dat deze test een sensitiviteit en specificiteit heeft van respectievelijk 98% en 100%.
